Insurance broker Integro said it has hired Robert H. Easton as deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer.Easton joins Integro from the New York State Department of Insurance, where he has served as deputy superintendent and general counsel since 2007. He previously served as deputy solicitor general of the New York State Department of Law. He’ll report to Integro General Counsel and Managing Principal William P. Costantini. As chief legal officer of the New York State Insurance Department, Easton worked to protect policyholders while also taking into account the impact of the agency’s actions on the insurance marketplace, Integro said in a statement. Easton presided over the promulgation of rules governing brokers’ disclosure of contingent commissions.Attempts to reach the company for additional comment were not immediately successful. Before joining the public sector, Easton worked as an attorney with Sidley & Austin in New York. Integro was the 20th-largest insurance broker in 2008 based on brokerage revenue, according to Best’s Review. (By Meg Green, senior associate editor, BestWeek: Meg.Green@ambest.com)
