Harold Ford Jr. is taking a 30-day leave of absence from his job as vice chairman of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, The Associated Press reported Jan. 19, citing spokesman Davidson Goldin.
Ford is leaving to meet New Yorkers as he weighs a challenge to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate race, Goldin told the news service.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch is the marketing name for the combined brokerage operations of Bank of America Corp. and Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.
