Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: NCI) today announced four senior-level industry professionals have joined the company's growing global Energy segment.

Burrell Kilmer, managing director, along with Sebastian Foot, James Freyre, and Wesley Thomson, directors, are well-versed in the changing market demands, evolving policies and regulations, and disruptive technologies ushering in an era of transformation for the energy industry. In their new roles, they will work side by side with clients to help develop and implement strategies for the Energy Cloud, a framework developed by Navigant to describe a more sustainable, highly digitized, and dynamic energy system.

"Change is the new normal in our industry, and Navigant's experts recognize the opportunities that can help our clients navigate the energy transition successfully," says Jan Vrins, managing director and leader of Navigant's global Energy segment. "This is especially true for Burrell, Sebastian, James, and Wesley, who are already identifying ways for clients to position for success across the energy value chain."

    Burrell Kilmer, Managing Director, Phoenix

With more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, Kilmer combines a passion for clean energy with expertise across business strategy, operational leadership, and customer excellence through full lifecycle transformative programs. Kilmer focuses on Navigant's utility clients in the West and Southwestern United States, leading account teams and fostering avenues for growth. By identifying opportunities that connect customer and regulatory goals with technology and operational excellence, he helps utilities drive customer and shareholder value, while positioning for the energy transition. Throughout his career, Kilmer has also worked at Baltimore Gas & Electric, Accenture, and Itineris.

    Sebastian Foot, Director, London

Serving investors and large corporations that are transitioning their business to include clean energy solutions, Foot is an accomplished energy finance professional with more than 14 years of experience across project finance, fintech, and emissions trading. With a focus on the energy transition, he helps clients develop financial strategies to manage risk, acquire or divest assets, gain exposure to new markets and asset classes, and raise capital. His broad skill set is a result of working across the financial sector and as a management consultant focused on clean energy advisory services. Most recently, he designed and launched a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated crowdfunding platform enabling individuals direct access to renewable energy investments, managed the financing of pound sterling100 million of renewable assets in the UK, and was instrumental in a pound sterling25 million refinance of solar assets.

    James Freyre, Director, Miami

With expertise in program management, engineering, and construction, Freyre is focused on transforming energy systems and infrastructure in the wake of natural disasters. For over 30 years, he has led diverse teams in project planning, development, and execution to support utility operations and maintenance programs. Earlier in his career, Freyre was the lead engineer for the construction and installation of a nuclear power plant's emergency generators, which successfully operated through Hurricane Andrew. Since, Freyre has managed the construction of a new generator power plant in the Bahamas, as well as participated or managed the construction of various nuclear modifications, combined-cycle gas turbine power plants, and wind farms.

    Wesley Thomson, Director, London

Thomson works closely with clients around the world to provide strategic advice in the pursuit of sustainable excellence, as well as transactional support in major commercial decisions. He leverages broad international experience, multidisciplinary expertise, and in-depth industry knowledge to identify emerging market ventures, capitalize on niche business opportunities, and develop and implement strategies for accelerated growth. Thomson has a deep understanding of commercial value creation, having held pivotal roles in supporting organizations in making sound investment decisions within the energy and technology sectors. Most recently, Thomson was a managing director at Thomson International. He is a member of the International Sustainability Council and the Infrastructure Council for the Urban Land Institute.
