The schools have other needs as well. Heger pointed out that the roofs on five elementary schools are between 28 and 32 years old and already have problems with leaks. She said the state is willing to help pay for two of the roofs.
The feasibility study for the high school is the necessary first step towards securing funding for renovating or replacing the half-century-old building, she said.
